Ski trip planner: find the week your whole group can go

Planning a group ski trip starts with one question: which stretch of the season can everyone get away for? WeGoWhen answers it. Set the window to the season, share one link, and everyone taps the days they are free; it ranks the runs of consecutive days the most people can make, with their names. Free, no sign-up, nothing to install.

Why ski trips need the date early

Chalets and apartments near the lifts go early for the busy weeks, and the price of the same place can change a lot between a school-holiday week and the week after it. Lift passes and flights often reward booking ahead too. All of that waits on a date, and a group of eight rarely agrees on one quickly.

Ski trips are also usually longer than a weekend - four to seven days on the snow - so the overlap you need is a long run of consecutive days, which is exactly what a group chat is worst at finding.

    Setting up a ski trip

    1. Set the window to the part of the season you would consider. For example December to March. If the group includes people tied to school holidays, they will simply mark those weeks, and the ranking will show whether they fit.
    2. Share the link early. Ideally in the autumn, before the popular weeks are gone. Each person types a name and taps the days they could be away, including travel days.
    3. Set the minimum length to the trip you want. Put 5 in the "Min" box for five days and the ranking only shows runs at least that long, so a stray free weekend does not top the list.
    4. Check the trade-off between length and people. Lower the minimum and see whether a shorter trip gets everyone in. A four-day trip the whole group makes often beats a week that two people miss.

Mixed groups: skiers, boarders, and the one who only wants the spa

Not everyone has to stay the whole time, but the ranking assumes they do: a range counts someone only if they can make every day of it. If some people can only join for part of the trip, look at the per-day shading on the calendar too - it shows how many people are free on each day, so you can see where the group thins out.

    Questions people ask

When should you book a group ski trip?

Agree the dates first, ideally in the autumn before the season, because popular weeks and larger chalets go early. WeGoWhen can collect everyone’s availability across the whole season in one link and rank the stretches of days the most people can make.

How do you find a week for a ski trip that everyone can make?

Give everyone the same window, ask them to mark every day they could be away, and look for the longest run of consecutive days most people can all make. In WeGoWhen, set the minimum length to the trip you want and the top row is the answer, with the names of who can come.

Is it free, and does everyone need an account?

It is free with no paid tier, and nobody needs an account or an email address - the organiser included. The link opens in any browser.
