When a federal holiday falls on a Saturday it is observed on the Friday before; on a Sunday, the Monday after. In 2027 that moves Juneteenth to Friday, June 18, 2027, Independence Day to Monday, July 5, 2027, Christmas Day to Friday, December 24, 2027 and New Year's Day 2028 to Friday, December 31, 2027.

Federal law calls Presidents' Day “Washington's Birthday”. Federal holidays bind federal employees, and banks and schools mostly follow them, but private employers set their own calendars, and many do not give every federal holiday off. Check yours before you book.
